Nanaimo Half & Full Marathon Clinic

Tuesday night speed/strength coached workouts at various locations in Nanaimo, leading to the Vancouver Half and Full Marathon on May 07, 2017. Clinic start time (ready to run) is 6:30 p.m.
» Headlamps for Tuesday nights will be mandatory as some workouts will take place in darker areas around Nanaimo.
» First night is clinic introductions right into a short workout.
» Mapped routes for Saturday a.m. long runs will be emailed prior to Saturday with a gmap link and route description. The start time for these runs will vary depending on distances and light conditions. Start times will usually be between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. Long runs will start as a group but will be run at your own pace.
» Every Monday an email will be sent providing running tips and the breakdown of the upcoming Tuesday workout.
» Schedules will be emailed to the group prior to each training block.
» This clinic is suitable for all speed levels, but is best suited for those who have a running base.
Participants starting this clinic should be comfortable running three days a week with a regular long run of a minimum of one hour for the ½ marathon, and 1.5 hours for the full marathon.
Clinic cost is $125 and includes a technical running t-shirt.

Stefan Jakobsen has been leading run groups for nineteen years, and has a very keen interest in helping other athletes reach their athletic goals. With years of racing experience that includes the Pan Am Games and World Championships, he brings a balanced approach to training and racing with an emphasis on working hard and having fun!
Normon Thibault has been competing in an array of endurance sporting events for over two decades, including over ten Ironmans. He has been leading clinics at Frontrunners for nineteen years and brings the same passion to leading others to their personal goals.
De Orrell has been running for fun and in various races for over ten years. After moving from Australia she needed to keep the sun shinning and a great way to do that was to take up running. Since then De has completed numerous marathons, half marathon and trail races. Through running, De has found her community and her amily away from home. She continues to race in local events and destination races and is passionate about seeing people achieve happiness and personal goals through running.
Yann Bernaquez is a seasoned marathoner with a passion for the trails. After competing in many ultra events Yann can be found at trail races all over BC. Yann’s willingness to share his experience with others will no doubt inspire and encourage you to a personal best.
Christine Almond recently moved to Vancouver Island and immediately connected with the running community through working at Frontrunners and joining local running clubs. All in an effort to meet people and acclimate to island life. After
hanging up her rugby cleats, Christine has been pursuing endurance sports, completing multiple marathons, Ironman Triathlons and ultra events. Christine looks forward to meeting new people, creating memories and supporting members achieve itness goals through this clinic.
Katie Bernaquez has been running in races and events for the past 8 years. Within the past 4 years she has discovered her love of trail running and the excitement that comes with training. In the evening and on weekends you will most likely find Katie running in the trails behind Westwood Lake or trekking up Benson. Katie is excited to share her experience training for half and full marathons. She is thrilled to be part of the amazing community that Frontrunners and New Balance offers!
